We recommend you complete the ‘General Pest Management’ short course first, however this is not a requirement in most states.
After completing all your training and assessment, you will receive a “Statement of Attainment” which can then be submitted to your government licensing office to receive your Pest Management Licence.
This Course must be completed within 12 months of your enrolment date.
Certificate III in Urban Pest Management (CPP30119)
If you have already completed both the General Pest Management and Termite and Timber Pest Management short courses you only need to complete a further 5 units by correspondence to gain the Certificate III in Urban Pest Management CPP30119 qualification.
If you have not undertaken any previous Pest Management training you can study the whole 10 course units by correspondence or a combination of face to face study and correspondence.
This qualification must be completed within 18 months of your enrolment date. Those on a government funded traineeship must complete their studies within 2 years.
3-4 Day Practical
Experience Workshop
You can do this with MPL (or work in the industry to do Practical Experience tasks with a Licenced Pest Technician). Practical experience is usually conducted over three (3) – four (4) days with an MPL Trainer/Assessor and you will cover a variety of practical experiences. Practical experience must include a series of pests (and pest sites) which will be organised for you. This work can also be organised and completed separately with your Workplace Supervisor, whilst working in the industry.
2 Day Practical
Workshop & Assessment
Whether training by correspondence or face-to-face each of our 3 training courses requires participation in an additional 2 day practical workshop, providing you with the opportunity to demonstrate your skills and knowledge as part of your final assessment. Where it is difficult for a student to access an assessment location we can discuss and organise an alternate method of assessment.
